Health Insurance in the Netherlands
Even if
you are covered by an existing policy when you move to Holland, you
must take out insurance with a Dutch insurer.
Children under 18 are covered by their parents’
insurance.
Dutch
insurance companies are obliged to grant the basic package to
anyone, regardless of his/her age or state of
health.
If your
income is below a fixed threshold, you can apply for a healthcare
allowance (zorgtoeslag) from the Dutch Tax Office
(Belastingdienst).
