Who we are

Probably you are asking yourself who did have the insane idea to build up such a website.

We are a couple of expats parents who moved to Amsterdam for work and, after some years, decided that this would be the right place to live, to have a family and to have our kids growing up.

One day we were sitting for breakfast starting organizing the party for our daughter's next birthday and we took our black Moleskine where we are used to collect all our everyday's life information on this place.

We realized it was ... full!

Doctors and schools, shops and restaurants, parks and amusements, everything we experienced or simply collected walking around Amsterdam.

"Wow! We piled up a lot of notes!" my wife said.

"Why don't we put them on a website and share them on internet?" I thought. ... and this what we have done.

Amsterdam is a great city to live and we believe that expats have all the rights to maintain their proper culture and habits without limiting themselvs in surviving in this place.

"We are not tourists" we repeated many times. "We are Amsterdammers!"

The integration in an existing culture is passing through the knowledge of that and the knowledge comes from the experience of people.

... and this became our goal with kids020.com: we wanted to share our experience with you and we hope you would find it useful.
